Think about it — certain foods can really make you feel your best, while others not so much (hello, sugar crashes!). And it makes sense — what you put in your body has a great impact on how your body functions. Truth is, the journey to living a happier and healthier life starts with building a better, stronger and more empowered you from the inside out.

Our holistic nutritionist can help you reach your wellness goals one step at a time. Armed with the belief that the relationship we have with food and the way our body feels reaches beyond filling our bellies and breaking a sweat, holistic nutrition approaches health and healing by getting to the bottom of what it means to eat healthily, nourishingly and with simplicity, encouraging a balanced and healthy body and mind.

No quick fixes or crash diets here, but rather, evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle modifications with a focus on prevention using small changes that can help with a multitude of issues including digestion, women’s health, emotional eating, anxiety and depression, weight loss and difficulty sleeping.

Wanna hear something cool? Your body is designed to heal itself. Just think —when your kiddo falls and cuts his or her knee, it scabs over and heals on its own over time. But sometimes our bodies need help with their healing process. That’s where our Naturopathic Doctors play a role. They’ll work with you one-on-one to help identify the underlying root cause of your symptoms and then use a combination of natural therapeutic modalities such as botanical medicine, nutrition, acupuncture, cupping, eastern medicine, along with a thorough evaluation of several lifestyle factors, in order to manifest your body’s natural healing powers to make you feel well again.

Bottom line, we believe that your body knows best and we’re here to support it.

There are two things that got Heather into acupuncture: Gender Studies and her own struggle with anxiety.

While taking Gender Studies at the University of Toronto, Heather wanted to find a job that would be a hands-on way to work for reproductive and birth justice. She was also experiencing anxiety and found acupuncture to be an effective way to manage her feelings, find her breath and calm her mind.

After completing two clinical intensives in the labour and delivery ward at Lutheran Medical Centre in Brooklyn NY and taking courses with experts in the field of obstetric acupuncture, Heather was inspired by how acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can benefit pregnancy and labour outcomes, as well as general health.

A lover of hands-on, practical and creative work (she’s a skilled ceramicist), Heather’s focuses on reproductive health, pregnancy and postpartum care, and also treats acute and chronic pain, digestive issues, anxiety and insomnia among other concerns.
